Terms of Service
Last updated 6 October 2026
These terms cover your use of TakeHome API (the “Service”), including the website, the API and any API keys, provided by Hosting Easy Ltd (“we”, “us”). By creating a key or calling the API you agree to them. The Service is intended for businesses and developers.
1. What the Service does
The Service calculates estimated UK take-home pay from figures you supply, using published HMRC and Scottish Government rates for the tax years it supports. Each result lists the sources and assumptions it used.
2. Estimates, not advice
Results are estimates for information only. They are not tax, financial, legal or payroll advice, and must not be relied on as the sole basis for payroll runs, tax returns or financial decisions. Actual deductions depend on circumstances the Service does not know about, such as tax codes, other income, benefits in kind and pay frequency. You are responsible for how you and your users use the results, including showing appropriate notices to your own users.
3. API keys and acceptable use
- Keep your API key secret. You are responsible for all calls made with it. Tell us promptly if it is exposed and we will revoke it.
- Don't share keys between unrelated organisations, resell raw API access, or use the Service to build a competing tax-calculation API.
- Don't attempt to bypass usage limits, overload the Service, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission.
- Don't send personal data you don't need to. The API needs salary figures, not names or identifiers.
We may suspend or revoke keys that breach these rules, putting the Service at risk.
4. Plans, billing and cancellation
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, in pounds sterling, and renew automatically until cancelled.
- Each plan includes a monthly number of calls. Usage resets on the 1st of each calendar month. Calls over the limit are refused until it resets or you upgrade.
- You can change or cancel your plan at any time from the billing link in your Stripe receipt. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we don't refund part-months except where the law requires it.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The change applies from your next renewal after the notice period.
- AI agents paying per call (where offered) pay the listed price for each successful call. Those payments are final.
5. Business plan correctness commitment
If you are on the Business plan and show us that a result was wrong when compared with the published rates and rules the Service states it applies, we will fix it within 10 working days of confirming the error and credit that month's plan fee against your next invoice. This credit is your sole remedy for calculation errors.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available and accurate, and to add new tax years when rates are published, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change, add or remove features. We will give reasonable notice of changes that remove functionality from a paid plan.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited. Otherwise: the Service is provided “as is”; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill; and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in those 12 months (or £100 if you are on the Free plan).
8. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may end your access with 30 days' notice, or immediately if you seriously breach these terms. Sections 2, 7 and 9 continue after the agreement ends.
9. General
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and we will email paid customers about material changes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
